how to save energy on a large scale?
i need six ideas to save energy on a large scale
i have
compact fluorescent light bulbs
proper insulation(save on heating/cooling)
don’t leave appliances on standby
fill in the pool or get a really good pool pump
maintain appliances in your home to make sure they are at peak efficiency
and i need one more please help!

Make your house into a solar trap for winter and a self ventilating and shaded haven in summer.
This can be achieved in winter by use of an expanse of windows facing the noon sun, with an internal heat absorbing concrete floor and/or internal wall, double glazed windows, straw bale or similar high efficiency insulation on the cool side of the house, and closeable roof vents and prevailing wind funnels. To reduce heat in summer you need to have eaves or pergolas with appropriate shading angles that they stop summer sun but allow the lower winter sun through. Opening vents in the ceiling space and in prevailing wind traps encourages cooling. Internal mass of concrete also helps stabilise temperature and therefore saves energy for both heating and cooling.
