Which is better Laser or Electric water heaters?
I have seen recently that there is a different option to on demand tankless water heaters other than gas and electric. These state they use laser to heat up water. Which is to cheaper to install? Which saves more energy? Which is more eco friendly? Maintenance? And basically overall.
As far as I can find on the web, a Laser water heater is just a brand name. The link below shows a tankless water heater that has the name Laser on it. Reading the specs shows it still has heating elements. Quote: “The heating elements are shielded incoloy elements, used for reliability and long life.” There are also Laser space heaters using kerosene. See the wiki link for more information there.
Tankless heaters are more efficient because the water isn’t sitting in a tank with the heat slowly dissipating. The water is only heated when it’s needed.
As far as electric or gas, the gas heater will always have some heat wasted up the flue. Modern ones minimize this waste but some is still there. However, it might still be cheaper to heat with gas rather than electricity. You need to compare costs of both in your area to determine which would cost least.
